Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a natural healing system designed to assist in healing and help achieve balance. Reiki is administered by a practitioner, who serves as a conduit through whom the Universal Life Energy can be transmitted to the recipient, by either hands-on or distance healing techniques. Practitioners may also practice Reiki self-treatments.

How does Reiki energy flow?

Reiki flows through our palms at different rates of speed, depending on various factors such as the extent of the recipient’s illness, degree of blockage, his or her readiness to accept change, and so on.

Is Reiki a form of faith healing?

No, Reiki is not a religion, nor is it based on the acceptance of any religious doctrine. Having a belief system is not a requirement for Reiki to work. Reiki does not infringe on anyone’s right to believe what he or she wishes. However, Reiki's principles are spiritual in nature and do encourage spiritual empowerment and growth.

Who can benefit from a Reiki treatment?

Reiki's gift of increased energy and vitality can be extended to anyone. It doesn't matter what a person's gender, race, intelligence, or financial status is. Reiki is not a healing energy reserved only for the elite, wealthy, educated, or spiritually evolved.

What does Reiki feel like?

Common Reiki sensations are heat or coolness, "pins and needles" tingling, vibrational buzzing, electrical sparks, numbness, throbbing, itchiness, and drowsiness.

What is a Reiki attunement?

A Reiki attunement is a ritual performed by a Reiki Master. The ritual involves energetic placement of Reiki symbols through a specific set of sequenced actions into the student's crown and palms.

Will Reiki ever run out?

When you are giving a Reiki treatment to someone, you are giving of your time and your intent to assist, but you are not giving away any of your own energy. Reiki is in infinite supply. It never runs out.

What is the purpose of the Reiki hand placements?

Emphasis is placed on devoting five minutes on each hand placement so that no part of the body is neglected and to ensure that each body part is given equal consideration.

Do I need to direct the flow of Reiki?

Reiki will automatically go to wherever it needs to go with no mental involvement of either the practitioner or the recipient. However, when mental intention is used, a linear pathway is opened. This cleared route allows Reiki to flow more effectively to that part of the body where attention is most desired.

What purpose do Reiki symbols serve?

Independently, each Reiki symbol has its own unique purposes. The combined function of these symbols is to provide Reiki practitioners with focal points for their healing intentions.

Why is Reiki called "smart energy"?

Reiki is an intelligent energy because it knows which areas of the body most need healing and will automatically flow to specific areas where suffering or imbalance are prevalent.

A NOTE ON BREATHING PRACTICES

Correct breathing practice is at the heart of many of the Japanese Reiki techniques.
Over the years of working with various forms of energy therapeutics, the most frequent causes of severe energetic imbalance I have come across tend, in one form or another, to relate to what is commonly referred to as the 'kundalini crisis' - i.e. are a result of improper use of yogic breathing practices.
Second on the list - yes, you've probably guessed it - improper use of breathing exercises from Chinese and Japanese therapeutic (and martial disciplines) - in particular the basic process of 'lower tanden' breathing (Seika Tanden Kokyu in Japanese terminology)

All breathing practices can be dangerous if miss-applied.
For some reason (probably due to watching too many bad martial arts movies!) many students seem to be intent on practising breathing exercises with an almost violent intensity, as though the harder they strain, the better the effect
(something which could not be further from the truth)
Even after having been given careful instruction in using relaxed breathing, I have often seen students 'attacking', for example, the primary breathing element of hatsureiho - Joshin Kokyu ho with a mania - "huffing and puffing" and straining away like some b-movie ninja!
Yes, in the short term, such behaviour can raise (the feeling of) energy - but in doing so it also raises blood pressure, and may lead to very unpleasant and counterproductive effects if the exercise is practised in this way over the long term.

Then there is the 'Dry Bathing' (kenyoku) element of hatsureiho
This particular practice is a variation on a yang (stimulating/pressure-increasing) practice used in various other ki/chi arts.
Again, when done accompanied by relaxed breathing patterns - inhaling naturally through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, it is a gentle and beneficially stimulating exercise, but 'step up' the breathing to a more forceful state, and kenyoku becomes something else entirely.
There is a simple Taoist adage that says it all:
"Correct breathing extends ones life,
incorrect breathing shortens it,
forceful breathing may end it"
In your practice of the Japanese Reiki Techniques, be mindful of this.

Meditation (Latin: meditatio – meditation, thoughts) is an intellectual process. Before XXth century, this term designated simply deep thinking, concentration on problem, internal worshiping (religious) & also form of philosophical lyrics (literature). At the end of XIX century, since the time of Europeans showing enthusiasm in Buddhism & Indian yoga, people started to understand the term as process of bringing state of mind into special condition of internal concentration – state of conscious, transitive between corporal & extra-corporal sojourn, often called meditative trans. Description of meditation in negation terms also exist: State, not linked with metal activity (but connected directly with inherent Spirit). State beyond the limits of conditions, as an exit beyond the limits of determinability through mind.

Transformation of spirit. Liberation of Spirit from “power” of mind, passions, desires, fears through complete relaxation & dampening of thoughts or through specific technique. Some techniques are connected with contemplation, for example, breathing or actions, which are carried out by people daily. Or special type of breathing (technical free breath). Preservation of internal vigilance. Purpose of meditation is transition into more “higher” state of consciousness, in which mind is not the centre but only the tool in which

Will is formed. History of meditation: Meditation received special development & concrete orientation in Indian yoga & Buddhism (as one of the basic means of achieving religious emancipation). But, it is possible to find meditation even in old “Philosophical ecstasy” of Plato s & neo-Plato(whereas it acted as necessary precondition for theoretical thinking, in particular, mathematical in Platonics), in “exorcism” (spiritual exercises) of Jesuits, in Jewish Kabbalah, in doctrine about “path” of Sufi Muslims & also even in orthodox “clever spiritual & devotional work making” (so-called. “Logos-meditation” or “Worshipping Jesus”). Nowadays, meditation strongly made its entry into national & religious cultures of many countries, especially Eastern countries. In USA, movement of hippies has provided much stimulus in gaining popularity of meditation in 1960s & 1970s. Hippies considered meditation as one of the basic means for achieving harmony with themselves & surroundings. And, though popularity of hippie movement gradually died away, but since then meditation gained such widespread distribution in developed western countries. In Russia, interest towards meditation appeared during restructuring (perestroika) & attained peak in the early nineties.

Meditative methods are very widely applied in modern psychotherapy. It is considered, that meditation promotes relaxation, distressing, purification of consciousness from unnecessary thoughts & worries, to get peace of mind & internal harmony. In majority of psychotherapeutic techniques, it is recommended to practice meditation on peak of muscular relaxation (so called “Relaxation”). For example, 10 minutes of meditation after 20 minutes of muscular relaxation according to Jacobson Progressive Muscle Relaxation method. According to modern psychotherapists, for mastering meditation at comprehensive level, it is enough to practice meditation daily for half an hour for six months. Modern psychoanalysis (for example, C.G.Jung’s School of Psychoanalysis), which has set an aim of integrating the personality, also widely uses elements of meditation. Classification of meditation: Principally, meditation is divided into two types: * Meditation on empty mind, which can lead to special condition of understanding, called “Enlightenment” in the east. * Unidirectional meditation (so called “Meditation on one object”) – meditation, while concentrating on a specific object, for example, own breath, consciousness or visual image. In this case, aim of meditation “on one” is immersing in meditation “on emptiness” to find the Enlightenment condition. Meditative practices: “Meditative Practices” are being used by many experts around the world for achieving the state of Meditative Trans. Such experts are divided into: * Cult; * Religious – philosophical; * Psychotherapeutic; * Didactic- propaedeutic; Hundreds of various methods for plunging into meditative trance condition are described in literature. Researches have shown, that most important (and general for almost all meditative experts) element of such plunging is deep concentration on monotonously repeating actions. Such action can be both physical (for example, ritual dances in African tribes; exercises in martial arts; run one’s fingers over beads; reading mantra loudly; concentration on breath etc.) as well as mental, imaginary (for example, concentration on Chakra; concentration on pulsation of “Astral body” etc.). Tens of positions for meditation are developed in various cultures. Though, scientific studies do not confirm the relationship between meditation depth and posture. Most known posture for meditation is: sitting with straight back, head slightly lowered, feet crossed, hands on knees with palms up, opened palms, big & index fingers connected. Basically meditative experts are divided according to object of concentration. Most popular objects are:

Chakra (Kundalini meditation); * Mantra (Transcendental meditation, abbr. ТМ); * Inner voice (Naam, Shabd, Anantha Nada); * Breathing (Anapanasati meditation); * Candle or reflection in mirror (Tratak); * Inner consciousness (Vipasana meditation) During unthinking meditation for long periods, after which all kinds of thoughts & desires disappear & conscious of I - practically completely disappears breathing, state of deep peace sets-in, after which inner consciousness of person is illuminated with light, leading to state of inexpressible pleasure. In this state, the person can stay for very long without realizing the surroundings.

DEVELOPING THE TOTAL BRAIN

The Transcendental Meditation technique exercises the critical prefrontal cortex of the brain—to make the brain healthier, more integrated, and better able to function together as a whole.

How stress damages the brain

Stress, pressure, fatigue, poor diet, alcohol, and drugs damage neural connections between the brain’s prefrontal cortex—or “CEO”—and the rest of the brain. When you are overtired or under intense mental or physical stress, the brain bypasses its “higher,” more evolved, rational frontal executive circuits—it starts using more primitive stimulus/response pathways. Consequently, you respond to daily demands without thinking; you make impulsive, shortsighted decisions. When the CEO goes “offline,” strong emotions, such as fear and anger, take over, adversely coloring your view of the world.

STRESS SIGNS
Weak executive functioning
Tendency towards

Rigid thinking
Impulsive, reactive behavior
Shortsighted decision-making
Poor working memory
Distracted attention
Drug and alcohol abuse
Unethical thinking and behavior

Stressed physiology
Tendency towards

Fatigue
High blood pressure
Eating and sleeping disorders
Weak immune system

Imbalanced emotions
Tendency towards

Low self-esteem and self-confidence
Worries, anxieties, and fears
Shallow, divisive emotions
Unstable relationships
Depression

How the Transcendental Meditation
technique optimizes the brain

The stress-reducing, nonreligious Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique provides the experience of “restful alertness,” which reduces stress, strengthens communication between the brain’s prefrontal cortex and different areas of the brain, and develops total brain functioning. As a result, the TM practitioner displays stronger executive functions, with more purposeful thinking and farsighted decision-making. When the CEO is fully “online,” the emotional response to the world is more balanced and appropriate.

TM SIGNS

Creating a Perfect Man Course

Creating a Perfect Man Course 1

Everyone has heard about the profound discovery of Veda and Vedic Literature in the human physiology. In this course you'll dive deeply to really understand and experience how the impulses of Natural Law that structure the entire universe also structure your brain and entire physiology. Realize within yourself that you truly are cosmic--this is the experience of the thousands around the world who took this course last year. This course substantiates all that students have learned in the Total Knowledge course, and builds on the foundation of their understanding of Veda and the Vedic Literature. A central theme of the course is 'The Individual Is Cosmic.' In this course you will explore the nature of the intelligence of Natural Law which structures the ever-expanding universe, and learn more about the one-to-one correspondence between the impulses of Natural Law and the structures and function of human physiology. The direct connection between human life and the cosmic counterparts is an important component of the course, especially for Creating a Perfect Man, course 1. This course is based on the historic discovery of Professor Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D., President of Maharishi Open University, and now the First Sovereign Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, His Majesty Raja Nader Raam, that the intelligence of Natural Law that structures the universe—Veda and the Vedic Literature—is also found in the human physiology. This course prepares the individual for gaining mastery over Natural Law, enabling one to enjoy full support of Nature for fulfillment of one's desires. The course includes traditional recitation of the Vedic Literature by Vedic Pandits, and advanced knowledge of Maharishi Nadi-Vigyan, self-pulse reading. This knowledge will be the materialization of the course title — Creating a Perfect Man. The course is taken part-time over seven months. There are two lessons each week; each lesson is 1 1/2 hours in length. Completion of the Total Knowledge course is a requirement for enrolling in the Creating a Perfect Man, course 1.

This course continues the investigation of the historic discovery of Professor Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D., President of Maharishi Open University, and now the First Sovereign Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, His Majesty Raja Nader Raam, that the intelligence of Natural Law, which structures the entire universe, is also found in human physiology. Discussion of each aspect of the Vedic Literature is followed by the traditional Vedic recitation, and the knowledge of Maharishi Nadi-Vigyan, self-pulse reading is reviewed. Completion of Creating a Perfect Man course 1 is required for enrolment. The course is taken part-time over six months, 2 lessons per week. Each lesson is 1 1/2 hours in length.

TM Body Lift

A TM-Sidhi Course Soon in Lebanon

It is with great joy to announce about the preparation for a new TM-Sidhi course to be done this summer, for all the TM centers in Lebanon.
The TM-Sidhi program is a natural extension of the TM technique and may be learned after two months of regular practice of the Transcendental Meditation. Practice of the TM-Sidhi program accelerates the progress of the individual towards realizing his full potential - the state of enlightenment.

The Transcendental Meditation technique gives direct experience of the least excited state of consciousness, the pure consciousness, the unified field which is the total potential of Natural Law. The TM-Sidhi program trains the individual to operate from the least excited state of consciousness, to think from the level of the unified field of all the laws of nature. By learning to function from this self referral state of pure consciousness, the mind gains increasing support of nature for the fulfillment of desires. With the TM-Sidhi program, thought and action spontaneously become more in accord with the evolutionary power of Natural Law. This results in greater skill in action - the ability to fulfill one’s desires naturally while effortlessly promoting the evolution of everyone and everything.

One aspect of the TM-Sidhi program is called Yogic Flying. During the first stage of Yogic flying, the body lifts up and moves forward in short hops. Subjectively one experience exhilaration, lightness and bliss. Scientific studies show that during this practice, at the moment the body lifts up, coherence is maximum in brain wave activity. This means that brain functioning is optimum and creates the perfect condition for the frictionless flow of awareness towards the fulfillment of its desire, in this case “flying”. When Yogic flying is practiced in groups, this influence of coherence spreads throughout the environment, reducing negative tendencies and promoting positive and harmonious trends in the whole society.

Discovery of the Field of Consciousness

It might seem too good to be true as we look around to see, to conceive of the goal, the target having been achieved, but in fact the target has been achieved because this world is a world of knowledge, it is a phenomena of knowledge. Indeed every action of every individual has inevitably stamped upon it the imprint of the level of knowledge of the actor. Even, I would say, that the actions of individuals are nothing but the expression of the level of knowledge of the actor. So, if we look around in the world today we will see the fruits of incomplete knowledge such that any child in any future generation who goes to the museum and look to the map of the world of today, that child will say this was the scientific age before Maharishi Mahesh yogi, because when you look at the world today you see a world that is randomly fragmented in the artificial boundaries of nations that divide people from themselves. But, this is not the scientific reality anymore. Maharishi casts his enlightened glance on the different sciences and the level of knowledge of this scientific age, and has raised each and every discipline to the level of perfection in unity and in wholeness. And, looking at the mother of all sciences, the science of physics for example, Maharishi looked at the scientific knowledge of the unified field that exists today, and saw on the basis of his enlightened vision that modern science had achieved through its own objective approach the discovery of the field of consciousness.
